Music and Theater Class Descriptions
Tiny Tot Music (ages 12 mos-4 years)
This class is for parents (caregivers) and children. Together the adult and child will play rhythm instruments, learn finger plays and chants, and sing songs. This class will develop creative responses through their growing language and listening skills and incorporate the use of movement activities that show form and develop creative pathways. This class will allow your child to use their imagination with the use of puppets, hoops, scarves, stories, etc., and will continue the development of music competency: keeping the beat and singing in tune. The caregiver and child will joyfully explore the magic of music. Maximum number of students per class is 10.
Pre-school Music (ages 3.5-5 years) 
The preschool music program is a fun, group class for children ages 3-5, designed to teach the basics of music. All classes are limited to 6 students per class and are 45 minutes once per week. The classes cover Movement and Music, Learning to sing and listen, Making music with percussion instruments, Rhythm and Melody.
Itty Bitty Broadway (ages 4-7)
An enrichment class encompassing the world of Broadway and Musical Theater. Classes include creative movement, song, acting and theater games. In each class we work to build confidence and work on skills including group play, projection and coordination. **This class is not currently on our schedule, but we will add as interest occurs.
Little Idols (ages 6-10)
This class introduces young singers to the fundamentals of voice instruction (breathing techniques, pitch and harmony), while learning age-appropriate, contemporary/pop music and songs. This class will help increase self-awareness and selfconfidence and will be a great experience for any young student who loves to sing!
Group Guitar / Rock Band(ages 5-9)
In this group setting, student will learn the basics of strumming patterns, chords, exercises for strengthening their hands and fingers, and how to get a clear tone on the guitar. This class meets once a week for 45 minutes, and is designed for the very beginner. Maximum number of student per class is 5. The teacher will assess the student’s progress and recommend private guitar lessons at the appropriate time.
Group Keyboarding / Little Mozarts (4-5 yrs, 6-8 yrs.)
These are introductory classes for beginners with up to five students in each class. We teach a notation-based program, focusing on reading music and rhythms, technique, ensembles, and some theory activities. The teacher helps each student individually for a small portion of the class during headphone time, and we also have a chance to play piano together in ensemble (great for building listening skills and steady rhythm). The teacher will assess the student’s progress and recommend private piano lessons at the appropriate time.
Group Violin (ages 5-8)
This is the perfect course for brand new students who have always wanted to play violin. This class will provide violinbased activities & rhythm skills. This class will introduce the student to proper posture, handling of the violin and bow, finger placing, basic note reading, plucking and bowing techniques.
Acting I (ages 5-9)
In this class, students will be introduced to a variety of Theater Games, Movement Exercises, Sensory Work, Props and Costumes, and Presentations. This class is designed provide young actors with a strong foundation in physical and vocal awareness - critical tools in the development of a performer, while having fun and building self-esteem.
Musical Theater (ages 9 and up)
All kids enjoy Broadway! Each year students rehearse and perform exciting musical excerpts at an end of year performance. Students get to act, sing, and dance while learning stage combat, etiquette, queues, stage direction and much more.
Acting II (ages 10-14)
This class allows students to delve deeply into acting as a craft through scene study, monologue work, group improvisation and writing for the stage. Relaxation and emotional exercises will open up each class. Students will learn how to develop theatrical material both with the teacher present and on their own in outside rehearsal. Audition preparation and the "business of theatre" will also be explored.
